A Mouse in the out house!
I was trying (!!) to fold a plastic sheet/tarpaulin which proved impossible as it had been shredded by some small teeth. As per the rats tail they do seem to like the smell/taste of plastics. I did catch sight of an individual with 4 legs, long tail and a pointy nose in the hut.
So, we instigate plan A– a mouse friendly trap with peanut butter as the bait – seems to work better than the traditional cheese. The trap was literally laid on the floor of the hut in a dark corner.
There was nothing for a week or so and then – bingo!!
I check the trap every day and there he or she was. A small mouse, not too terrified either.
Took his picture for the mugshot – not that easy as they don’t keep still.
Left him in the cool and the dark and later that day took him to the local tip and let the mouse go. They say that they can find their way back if let go within a mile of where they have been.
Got their picture now so I’ll know!
