When everything turns white!
Driving north from Indiana to Michigan during a ‘lovely’ spring day I got hit by a snow storm. Everything started beautifully with snowflakes touching the window, but after a couple of miles things went bad, and believe me when I say bad. The entire road got covered in about 12 inches of snow, the car started to slide and all of sudden I could not figure out what was road and what was the hard shoulder!
The moment a snowmobile passed over me made me realize something was wrong so I stopped in a Gas station and asked somebody if that was something I should not be doing. The answer was even worse. Two people told me I should not been driving that type of car in one of the worst snow storms they`ve even seen, however according to the weather channel things were not supposed to get any better for the next 2 days.
Long story short, after 6 hours (It was supposed to take 3) I finally arrived at the hotel safe and sound, and thankfully I could even record a short video of the adventure, not sure if is the scene or maybe the song from The Who rocking on the background but it looked very nice.

Upbeat AFS Texas Meeting
Howdy from Texas,
I’m just back from the January 2017 AFS, American Foundry Society, meeting at the Sam Houston Horse Race Track; in Houston, none the less!
It is always so good to catch up with fellow metalcasters that embody the spirit of the AFS and continue the long historical legacy of turning liquid metal into castings! The turnout for the board and general meeting was better than expected and in the end, it turned out to be a large crowd of approximately seventy members.
