Happy Diwali
Diwali honours the victory of good over evil and brightness over darkness. It celebrates Lord Ram and his wife Sita returning to their kingdom of Ayodhya.
This follows Ram's and monkey god Hanuman's defeat of the demon King Ravana, and the rescue of Sita from his evil clutches.
It's known as the "Festival of Lights" for all the fireworks, small clay lamps, and candles that are lit. For most Indian families, Diwali is the biggest and most anticipated festival of the year.

Thoughts on Golf
Golf is a game I have played most of my life. I have been lucky enough to play courses in England, Scotland and Ireland. I have ventured to Le Touquet in France and the Algarve in Portugal
I learned to play in East Africa where Hippo’s from the lake left their footprints on fairways and greens and these were considered natural hazards.

The Allotment
2019 has been a better year for the vegetable patch – primarily because there has been an unbroken water supply unlike last year when there was little or no water for a 6 week period.
It is now not only the very warm part of the year – we are around 40c every day – but the vegetables are ripe and ready.
