Looking Ahead
On top of my bookcase here in the North American office of SYNCHRO ERP, I have a picture given to me by one of my close friends and confidants. This serves as a constant reminder of “looking ahead”, but never forgetting where you have been.
Looking ahead, now is the time for your metalcasting facility to step up to the plate and make plans to attend the all-important American Foundry Society’s, AFS, yearly event - “The 122nd Metalcasting Congress April 3 - 5, 2018 in Fort Worth, Texas.” Registration and hotel information is already available and it “behooves” you to get registered and secure your lodging.
Complete details are available at http://www.afsinc.org/MccLanding.cfm
Why you should attend?
- First and foremost is to meet up with the team from SYNCHRO ERP and understand why your facility needs specific software for the metalcasting industry and why your selection should be our global leading software.
- Seeing all of the neat new wares that vendors have to offer that can benefit your operations.
- Attending the conferences and meetings to learn about trends and advancements within the industry.
- Fraternizing: otherwise known as networking. Metalcasting is a fraternal order that is close knit. The Congress is an ideal avenue for not only remelting existing relationships, but also pouring new relationships!
- Ye Haw! Fort Worth Texas, Cow Town USA. The city is rich in history and lore and no trip to Fort Worth is complete without a visit to the Stockyards.
So, grab your Stetson, put on your boots, strap on your six shooter, and two-step on over and visit the “Pros from Dover” front and center as you walk in at the SYNCHRO ERP booth #403.

Until next time, see you on down the road.

Making Sure You are in the Right Jungle
Coveyism, borrowed from the late great Dr. Stephen R. Covey of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and Principle Centered Leadership.
If you want a clear understanding of the difference between management and leadership imagine the scene: someone going through the jungle with a machete cutting the undergrowth clearing it up. There are the producers down there, see, the workers. Here all the managers are, back here sharpening the machetes for them, putting on muscle development classes for machete wielders, setting up working schedules for machete wielders, handling jurisdictional disputes between machete wielders. The leader climbs the tallest tree in the jungle, surveys the entire scene, studies the larger picture and screams out “Wrong jungle” and all the managers shout back: Shut up we are making progress.1
Through BRM and CRM, your metalcasting operations will always be making progress in the right jungle through improved communications and expanded relationships.
